McCracken County – Man Injured, Arrested After Crash

A man sustained injuries after crashing his car and was arrested afterwards.

The incident happened on November 7, around 10:54 pm, at the intersection of Gum Springs Road and Blandville Road.

18-year-old Awstyn Lamar was driving his 2014 Chevrolet Impala when he crossed into the opposite lane as he was trying to avoid hitting an animal. His car then hit a utility pole.

Lamar was injured and sent to a hospital. He was then arrested for receiving stolen property-firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal mischief and instruction permit violations.

A passenger was injured after a car accident.

The crash happened at 10:10 pm, on Blandville Road.

31-year-old Jake Finley was driving his 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck, accompanied by 58-year-old Jamie Blackwell. For unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the road and hit an embankment. The impact ejected blackwell from the vehicle, injuring her. Consequently, she was sent to a hospital.

McCracken County – ID of Man Killed In Truck Crash Released

The identity of a man who was killed in a truck crash has been released.

He was identified as 61-year-old Bryan G. Johnson. He crashed his pickup truck into a semitrailer on I-24, 2:48 pm Saturday.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Johnson’s Ford F-250 stuck under the semi. He was sent to Deaconess Hospital where he later died.

Three people were injured after a car crashed through a home at the intersection of US-60 and County Line Road.

The incident happened around 11:30 pm.

69-year-old Rosa Overby was driving her car when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a home. The car hit the bed of 30-year-old Houston Winters and his wife 29-year-old Britana Winters, ejecting them from the house.

The Winters were sent to a local injuries. Meanwhile, Overby had to be extricated from her car and taken to a hospital.

51-year-old Jeffery Purcell was attempting to turn left when he hit a vehicle by 55-year-old Sherry Joiner.

A man was killed after crashing his car.

The crash happened after 11:30 pm, at the intersection of Kentucky Dam Road and Benton Road.

47-year-old Michael Winstead was driving when his car struck a guardrail. The car then left the road and hit an embankment.

He was not wearing a seat belt. Furthermore, police are considering his speed and alcohol use as factors to the crash.

Winstead was pronounced dead at the scene.

80-year-old Tommy Collier was backing into the road from Bichon Avenue when it swerved, left the roadway, and collided into a home.

Two people were injured after a solo car crash in Oaks Road Tuesday afternoon.

59-year-old Charles Dempsey was driving when his tires blew out, causing his car to leave the roadway and hit a tree.

He and his passenger, 75-year-old Sharron Fisher, were sent to a nearby landing zone via ambulance. Then, they were airlifted to Tri-Star Centennial Trauma Center in Nashville for treatment of injuries.
