Lexington – Teen Injured After Shooting

A teenager was injured after a shooting.

The incident happened at the intersection of Winchester Road and East 7th Street, after 4 pm Saturday.

The teen was shot from a light-colored SUV.

Two other teens, 18-year-old Dwayne Slaughter and 18-year-old Darrian Webb, died in UK Medical Center from gunshot wounds.

Further investigations are ongoing.

Louisville – Dead Woman Found In River ID’d

A woman was found dead in Ohio River and was identified.

The body was found Tuesday night.

The woman was determined to be 68-year-old Lonnie Troxell.

Henry County – Man Found Dead in his Home

Henry County (October 10, 2019) – Police found a dead man inside his home on Jackson Road after getting called to the residence around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The victim’s identity and cause of death is yet to be revealed, but the report has said that the man had apparent trauma to his head. The case appears to be connected to an ongoing kidnapping case, with the murder suspect being Terry Whitehouse, who is believed to be holding his wife, Melinda Whitehouse against her will.

According to the report, police initially responded to a call about a kidnapping out of Shelby County. When Eminence Police came over to do a welfare check, they found the victim. The children who lived in the home were accounted for, and have been placed into the care of Child Protective Services.

Lee County – Man Dies in Stabbing Incident

Lee County (October 6, 2019) – A man died in a stabbing incident at the US-52 in Lee County on early Sunday morning. The victim, who was found dead on the scene, was identified by the coroner to be Arvel Newton from Hazard. His body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

According to initial investigation, the victim had been fatally stabbed during an altercation with another man. The Kentucky State Police were called to the scene around 1:30 a.m. No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.

Oldham County – Police Investigating After Man Died Scuba Diving In Quarry

A man died after scuba diving in a quarry.

The incident happened around 10:30 am at the Falling Rock Park Quarry.

62-year-old Dennis Price was diving with a friend, but they got separated at some point. Rescue crews pulled out Price from the bottom of the quarry. They tried to revive him, but they were unsuccessful.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harlan County – Safety Gap Caused Fatal Mining Accident

A fatal accident in a mine happened because the mine operator did not effectively prevent hazardous falling rocks and coal.

The incident occurred on May 22 at the Rex Coal CVB No. 1 mine.

48-year-old Felix Matthew North died after a 2,000-pound chunk of coal fell on him. He was moving a power cable when the debris struck him.

He was sent to a hospital in Tennessee and died after eight days.

48-year-old Jimmy Branson was found unresponsive by troopers when they arrived at the scene. Allegedly, Branson was hit with a large tree branch from a tree cut near him.

The incident happened at a home on South Highway 421, Sunday night.

Ricky Rogers shot Eddie Spurlock multiple times with a shotgun.

Rogers was charged with murder and sent to jail.

Meanwhile, Spurlock’s body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
