Clark County – Two Drivers And Passenger Injured In Car Crash

Two drivers and a passenger was injured after a car accident.

The incident occurred on I-64, October 1.

27-year-old Mutombo Mbaya was driving a Mitsubishi Giant when he lost control, crossed the median, and hit a passing van. Mbaya was ejected from the vehicle. Due to his injuries, he was carried to University of Kentucky Medical Center. However, he was sent to Clark County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond. He was charged with second-degree assault, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, failure to maintain insurance, driving on a suspended operator’s license and failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle.

Meanwhile, two passengers inside the van were also injured and sent to local hospitals to get treatment.

The incident happened on September 30, 2019 at the intersection of US-27 and KY-70.

55-year-old Billy Carter-Adamo was driving a Buick automobile when it was hit by 49-year-old Aaron Ison’s Kenworth semi.

Ison was not injured, but Adamo was treated on the scene before being taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The incident happened on Old Henry Road. Police received a call regarding the crash at 5 am.

A semi that was going to Old Henry Road was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released yet.

Graves County – Two Injured After Fiery Collision

Two were injured after a car crash.

The incident happened on September 26, at the intersection of KY 849 and Meridian Road.

29-year-old James Farris was traveling southbound on Meridian Road when he failed to notice 39-year-old Daniel Sasseen heading westbound on KY 849. The collision completely blocked KY 849, and a passerby had to use a fire extinguisher to put out the fire on one the vehicles’ engines.

Farris and Sasseen were injured. Farris refused treatment, while Sasseen was taken to Baptist Health to get treatment.

The incident happened before 8:15 pm on US-127.

45-year-old Mark Beckelheimer was driving his semi out of a gas station, when it partially blocked the southbound lanes, causing 57-year-old Patrick Scott to crash his car.

Scott died due to the collision. Consequently, Beckelheimer was arrested and now faces several charges, including driving a commercial vehicle while out of service.

Paducah – Man Injured, Treated For Opioid Overdose After Crash

A man was injured after crashing his car and was treated for opioid overdose.

The incident occurred around 9:40 am Thursday on Alben Barkley Drive.

A Jeep driven by 22-year-old Blake A. Weiland was on the median lane when it careened into the far outside lane and side-swiped a dump truck.

Passersby performed CPR on the Jeep driver. When Officer Steve Thompson arrived at the scene, he noticed Weiland was exhibiting signs of a drug overdose, so he gave him two doses of the opioid-overdose antidote Naloxone. Consequently, Weiland regained consciousness and was sent to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.

Weiland told Officer Thompson that he took Fentanyl while he was at a fast food restaurant near Paducah Tilghman High School. Also, he said driving at the restaurant was the last thing he recalled doing.

He was cited at the hospital and was charged with DUI.
