Louisville – Man Arrested After Injuring Officer During Pursuit

A man was arrested after he hit an officer while evading a pursuit.

The incident happened around 5:30 am Sunday.

47-year-old James Rogers tried to escape a traffic stop for a registration violation. As he was fleeing, he hit and injured an officer. He was finally caught after he ran out of gas in Cane Run Road.

Rogers and his passenger were arrested. He was charged with wanton endangerment.

Mayfield – Three Injured After Crash

Three were injured after a car accident.

The incident happened on I-69, Wednesday.

71-year-old Eddie Mayes was driving while having a medical emergnecy. It left him unconscious, leading to him running a stop sign and hitting a vehicle by 46-year-old Benjamin Huss and his passenger, 46-year-old Shelly Cole.

Mayes was sent to Baptist Health with serious injuries. Meanwhile, Huss was carried by a private vehicle to a doctor, and Cole was taken by an ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Pike County – Woman Arrested After DUI And Child Endangerment

A woman was arrested after driving under the influence with two children.

The incident happened Friday evening on US 23, Coal Run Village.

39-year-old Chrystal Hackney was driving recklessly under the influence of prescription pain medications. She took the the pain reliever Bupap, the anti-anxiety medication gabapentin and the diet drug Adipex before driving.

Hackney was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a minor and failure to notify address change to department of transportation.

Winchester – Two Killed In Car Accident ID’d

Two people who died in a car crash have been identified.

29-year-old Bobby Gipson and 32-year-old Kristin Piersall died when their car hit a telephone pole on Becknerville Road, before 8 pm, October 18.

Police said speed may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

Florence – Car Chase Ended In Fiery Crash, Injured One

A woman was injured after crashing her car into a concrete barrier as she was evading a police pursuit.

The incident happened around 1:30 Friday, on I-75.

51-year-old Karen Charles was speeding at a 115 mph, so police chased her down. She continued to drive recklessly until her car rear-ended a semi, causing it to roll over and hit a concrete barrier.

She had to be extricated from her car and airlifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the semi driver was not hurt.

Mayfield – Deputy Injured After Being Struck By Fleeing Vehicle

A deputy was injured after being struck by a fleeing vehicle.

The incident happened on Sunday night.

McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Awbery was trying to arrest 32-year-old Jerrod Dale on meth trafficking charges. Dale tried to flee the scene with his vehicle, hitting Awbery. The deputy was knocked to the ground and injured, but he is expected to recover.

A pursuit then took place, leaving two law enforcement vehicles disabled in the process. After deploying spike strips, Dale’s vehicle was disabled and he was arrested.

Lawrenceburg – One Dead, Two Injured After Car Accident

A teen died and two others were injured after a car crash.

The incident happened on Wednesday, 9 am, on US 127.

18-year-old Jill Hurst was killed in a crash after being hit by David Henderson’s car. He was evading police when he crashed into her car. Two others with Hurst were injured but are expected to survive.

David Henderson is facing a number of charges including first-degree assault, DUI and fleeing or evading police.

Paducah – Three Dead After Crashing Stolen Vehicle

Three people died after crashing a stolen vehicle.

The incident happened on Schneidman Road on September 10.

Police received a call around 1 am about a stolen vehicle from a business on Clark’s River Road. They spotted the vehicle on on Jackson Street near Lone Oak Road. In response, police activated their lights and chased the vehicle. The vehicle sped up and the occupants threw items outside. On Schneidman Road, it went airborne and hit a railroad crossing. Then, it hit a tree and a part of a home’s porch.

The three occupants in the vehicle all died. 20-year-old Caleb Puckett and two juveniles were pronounced dead by the McCracken County Coroner.

Lawrenceburg – Female Passenger Sent To Hospital After Police Chase Led To Car Crash

A female passenger was sent to the hospital after a police chase that ended in a car accident.

The incident happened around 11 pm Friday night.

David Henderson was driving under the influence and evading police with a female passenger. He drove from Mercer County, went on to US 127 until he crashed his vehicle into another car at US 62.

The crash injured his passenger. She was sent to the hospital to get treatment.

Meanwhile, Henderson was charged with DUI, evading police, and other charges.

He was detained in the Boyle County Detention Center.

Bell County – Three Arrested After Having Drugs And Children Inside Car

Three were arrested after they were caught with drugs and children inside their car.

They were caught on Cannon Creek Lake Hill Road on Friday, after Johnny Smith was apprehended after speeding with his tail light out. He appeared intoxicated and was not wearing a seat belt. Also, police found a hatchet on center console and two children in the backseat. Worse, they found a crystal substance and pills while searching Smith. He also admitted to taking meth and three or four Hydrocodone.

Smith was with his wife, Pricilla Jones, and Sabrina Margaret Jordan. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, wanton endangerment, speeding, and other charges. He was taken to the Bell County Detention Center.
