A man was sentenced to death for the deaths of two teens after a car crash.

37-year-old Shawn Welsh crashed his stolen truck into 18-year-old Jacob Barber and 17-year-old Katarina Peeters on Oct. 20, 2018.

He was sentenced on Tuesday after being found guilty.

A man sustained injuries and was arrested after a car crash.

The incident happened on I-65, Monday morning.

24-year-old Nickolas Grazal was driving a box truck when it went off the road and hit a light pole. Then, the pole fell over and the truck rolled over on its side.

Grazal was found under the influence of some substance. Also, they found marijuana on his person.

He was carried by an ambulance to the hospital.

Three officers were injured after a DUI collision.

The incident happened around 2 am, November 4 near Brooks Street.

Whitney Hardin crashed into a cruiser, inflicting injuries to three officers. Two of them were sent to University Hospital and the other drove himself to Jewish South.

Hardin was charged with DUI, assault of a police officer and possession of open alcoholic beverage containers in a motorized vehicles.

The incident happened Saturday morning at the intersection of South Limestone and Virginia Avenue.

25-year-old Taryn Silvestri crashed into the man on the scooter, injuring him.

Lexington – Man Arrested After Fatal DUI Accident

A man was arrested after fatally crashing into a pedestrian under the influence.

49-year-old Cecilio Reyes crashed into a 56-year-old man as he was crossing the road. Another vehicle also hit the pedestrian afterwards.

The victim’s name has not been released. Police said he was not crossing on a designated crosswalk.

The incident happened Friday evening on US 23, Coal Run Village.

39-year-old Chrystal Hackney was driving recklessly under the influence of prescription pain medications. She took the the pain reliever Bupap, the anti-anxiety medication gabapentin and the diet drug Adipex before driving.

Hackney was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a minor and failure to notify address change to department of transportation.

The incident happened on Wednesday.

Paul Wecker nearly hit an officer with his car.

Wecker is charged with third degree assault of a police officer, first degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, terroristic threatening, second degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, first offense of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, operating a vehicle on a suspended license, failure to register vehicle and failure to maintain insurance.

Also, he was detained in Marshall County Jail.

Lexington – Man Arrested After Crash That Killed Pregnant Girlfriend

A man was arrested after a collision that killed his pregnant girlfriend.

The incident happened on Winchester Road in October 2018. 34-year-old Samuel Alex Turner was arrested over the weekend.

Turner’s vehicle hit another vehicle, leading to his girlfriend’s, 29-year-old Kayla McCoy, and her unborn child’s death.

He was indicted on counts of second-degree manslaughter, third-degree homicide, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, DUI and persistent felony offender in early October.

A man was injured and was arrested after driving drunk.

The incident happened North Mantle Street, on 7 pm, Sunday.

55-year-old Jeffrey Stumpf was swerving his moped recklessly while passing through stop signs. Eventually, he crashed his moped into a parked car.

The impact injured Stumpf and was sent to Hardin Memorial Hospital.

Afterwards, he was sent to Hardin County Detention Center. He was charged with five counts of disregarding a stop sign, reckless driving, driving without proper eye protection, fleeing or evading police, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of a controlled substance.

Pendleton County – Children Stuck Under Car After DUI Crash

Two children were stuck under a car after it crashed into their home.

The incident happened around 7 pm, Thursday, at a home in Madison Pike.

21-year-old Mason Cordray was driving his Chevrolet Silverado when he crashed it into a home. Luckily, a mattress protected two young girls from being hit. However, they ended up trapped under the truck and still got injured.

When police arrived, they found him smelling of alcohol with bloodshot, glassy eyes. He also alleged that he drank four beers and four Vegas bombs, an alcoholic drink often made with Crown Royal and schnapps. He did not pass the police’s field sobriety test.

Cordray was charged with 14 counts of wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, two counts of fourth-degree assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He has been placed in the Kenton County Jail.
