Perry County – One Man Dead, Another Injured in Crash at Hal Rogers Parkway

Posted on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 at 2:04 am

Perry County (October 7, 2019) – One man died and another injured in a crash involving a car and a box truck on Hal Rogers Parkway on Monday morning. Both victims were initially taken to Hazard ARH for treatment, but one man, later identified as Delbert Whitehead from Leslie County, was reported to have passed away from his injuries. The other victim’s condition was not given in the report. The truck driver was uninjured in the incident.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. near the Perry-Leslie County line. Police reported that the car the victims were in crossed the center line and collided with a box truck. It is believed that the wet road conditions were a factor in the crash. The accident also caused the road to be closed for around 2 hours.

About Car Accidents

We offer our sympathies and compassion to the friends and loved ones of the victims. Unfortunately, this is not the only time a car accident has resulted in deaths of injuries. Kentucky has been ranked as the 11th most dangerous state for car accidents, with average fatalities listed as 19.38 per 100,000. There are various types of car accidents, all of which can result in damage, injuries, or worse, a loss of life. Because of this, we ask that everyone should employ caution while driving on the road. Always be alert and conscious of other vehicles and pedestrians on the road. Be wary of hazards such as fixed objects and animals, both of which are dangerous obstacles when struck. One of the most important things to keep in mind is to always drive sober, especially as alcohol is considered a factor in 30% of Kentucky car accident fatalities. By following these rules, we can ensure our own safety as well as the safety of others in our surroundings.

“Constant Contact”

Couldn’t be more please with my experience with Hare, Wynn, Newell and Newton! I changed my case representation to them after a poor experience with another lawyer and was incredibly happy that I did! Mr. Jonathan Fannin did a superb job on my case resulting in a quick and favorable settlement in my favor. He was in constant contact with me and I was immediately informed on anything going on with my case. Cannot say enough about Hare, Wynn, Newell and Newton! I would highly recommend them!

“Exceptional Work”

Brian Vines did exceptional work for me. Would definitely use this law firm again.

“Very Professional Law Firm”

I had an excellent experience with this very professional law firm. Brian and Matt were very professional and approached my personal injury case with diligence and urgency. They were very good to work with and worked hard to provide me the maximum settlement. I would highly recommend this firm and would use them again if needed.
